What Should You Think About Before Your Installation?
-
Where Would You Like Your Router?
We’ll be installing two small white boxes on your interior wall, and your router will connect to them. Think about where you'd like this setup in your home. We recommend a central spot, like the living room, to get the best Wi-Fi coverage.
-
Create a Clear, Safe Working Area
Once you’ve picked the perfect spot for your router, please clear some space around the area so our engineers can work safely. If you have pets, it’s a good idea to keep them in another room while we’re there – we’ll be using a drill, and we don’t want to startle them!
The Installation Process
For a brand new Connexin Fibre installation, one of our engineering teams will visit your address at the time you booked. Here’s what to expect:
-
External Works
First, the engineer will bring the fibre cable to your property. If our network is above ground, they’ll run a fibre cable from the nearest telegraph pole and attach it to a small bracket on your house. Then, they’ll run the cable down to the room you’ve chosen for your ONT and router.
-
Internal Works
Another engineer will fit two small white boxes to your interior wall – one is the insertion point for your fibre connection, and the other is the ONT. We’ll connect your router to the ONT and do some first-line checks to make sure everything’s working perfectly. Our team will clean up after themselves, leaving your place as tidy as they found it.
Getting You Connected
Before the team heads off, they’ll walk you through how to download and use the SmartHome app, so you can get the most out of your new broadband. And that's it! Smooth, simple and sorted.
