We only consider new telegraph poles once we’ve explored every other option first. We start with streetlights, then explore other council-owned assets, and, if needed, privately owned homes or buildings, where we work directly with property owners who’d like to host a gateway and earn a small reward for helping their community.
Installing a new telegraph pole is always the very last resort. We’ll only put one up when no other options can provide the coverage needed to connect the area.
Pole installations go through the standard planning process as outlined by law, which means you will be notified at least 56 days (eight weeks) before installation of any new poles near your home.
